Knox Pages brings two Talk the Vote events to Knox County.

Cheryl Splain from Knox Pages talked with WNZR about their “Talk the Vote” events coming this week. These events give citizens a chance to tell the candidates about the issues and topics that are important to them. These events also help to create a Citizens Agenda that will be shared with those who are elected.

Mount Vernon’s “Talk the Vote” event will give voters the opportunity to share their thoughts on the future of the city and Council’s role in that future. It will take place Tuesday, Oct. 12 in the Recital Hall of the historic Woodward Opera House, located at 107 S. Main St. in downtown Mount Vernon.

Doors will open at 6:45 p.m. and the discussion will start at 7 p.m. It will be catered by Stein Brewing Company.

Fredericktown’s “Talk the Vote” event will be split into two half-hour sessions, with the first 30 minutes dedicated to the village/Village Council and the last 30 minutes dedicated to the school district/Board of Education. Voters who attend either or both sessions will have the opportunity to share their thoughts on the future of the village and each governing body’s role in that future.

The event will take place Thursday, Oct. 14 at the Mill Street Nature Center, located at 12 Mill St. in Fredericktown. Doors will open at 6:45 p.m. and the discussion will begin at 7 p.m. The event will be catered by Taste of Country.

October 2021 MVNU Presidential Update with Dr. Henry Spaulding

MVNU President, Dr. Henry Spaulding talked with WNZR for our October MVNU Presidential Update.

Dr. Spaulding shares an update on how the school semester is going so far and how COVID is affecting the MVNU campus.

He shares an update on Phase 2 of the new soccer and lacrosse stadium, plus other special projects at MVNU.

Dr. Spaulding talks about his top goals for the month of October. He also shares a special message to students, staff and faculty as mid-term break approaches.

Johnny Appleseed Apple Fest comes to downtown Mount Vernon on Saturday 10/9

The Morning Thing Focuses on Local Ministries: Kandee Popham of Place 4 Grace

This week, the Morning Thing is highlighting some local ministries with whom WNZR has partnered. We are excited to share updates with you from Place 4 Grace, a local maternity housing ministry.
Kandee Popham, Executive Director for Place 4 Grace shares the vision and mission of the ministry.
She also shares why it is important to have a ministry like Place 4 Grace in our community.
Kandee shares the ways that people can get involved and support the ministry.

Fredericktown Interchurch Social Services celebrates a NEW building

The NEW Fredericktown Interchurch Social Services building hosted a ribbon cutting on Tuesday, 9/28.

WNZR joins our community to congratulate this fantastic ministry for their service to families in Fredericktown.

Their new location is at 57 North Main Street in Fredericktown. Look for the new blue building with the red door at the corner of Main and 2nd Streets.

Katie Frazier, Fredericktown’s Branch Manager shared with WNZR about the timeline of this new project and the new features that will help them serve families.
