The three easy steps to create a good apology

Let’s be real, we’ve all had to apologize for something that we’ve done. But sometimes offering a heartfelt apology can be difficult. Maybe you don’t know what to say, or maybe you think if you don’t say anything the other person will forget how you wronged them. Being able to apologize is still important! Family Life offers 3 simple steps to make a good apology.

The first step is to actually say the words “I’m sorry,” and actually mean it. Even if you have to sleep on it to understand why you need to apologize, be heartfelt in saying it. Flippant apologies can be more hurtful than not saying anything at all.

The second step is to say why you’re apologizing. This isn’t your time to try to blame the other person, but for you to explain what you did that warrants the apology.

The final step is to offer to fix your mistakes. This can help you rebuild trust with that other person and hopefully help keep you from making the same mistake again.

Fortunately, the Positivity Blog offers 3 simple steps to stop comparing yourself to other people and create a healthier outlook on life.

But there are some dangers to social media. All Pro Dad also has some dangers specific to Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. While social media has benefits for your tweens and teens, it is also important to have conversations with them about the not-so-nice sides of it.

Staycation Ideas for the New Year

We’re in to the second week of 2023. The holiday high has worn off and we’re already longing for summer days, vacations from work and school, and getting far away from our stressors and responsibilities. Unfortunately, vacations can be expensive and often bring their own form of stress and exhaustion. Not to mention that it can be hard to find the time for them except during peak travel season.

Enter the Staycation, the often overlooked and underappreciated cousin of the vacation. The fact is, staycations can be easier to schedule, just as fun, and definitely more cost effective. If you need something to do over a winter weekend or you’re already looking for something to do with the family this summer, check out the list of staycation ideas from Ramsey Solutions we shared on The Morning Thing today. You can find the complete list, with additional resources, HERE.

Whether you go out or stay in, WNZR encourages you to spend some time with your family this New Year!

How to Lessen the Christmas Stress

We’re less than a week out from Christmas! How’s your to-do list looking? Do you have gifts still to buy? To wrap? Any party planning to do? Cleaning the house? Preparing for visiting relatives? How about cookie baking?

It always seems that the closer we get to the big day, the more the stress rises. We might admit verbally that Jesus is the reason for the season, but instead of being like Mary and focusing on Him, we are like Martha and worry about the preparations and details and task lists and on and on and on and on.

It’s exhausting.

And it’s not how this time of the year should be, either. This is a celebration of God’s redemptive story, of the greatest gift the world has seen. We are celebrating the arrival of the Prince of Peace. How can we truly do that without feeling his peace?

There are several things you can do this week to lessen the effects of stress as Christmas draws near. You can find the entire list we shared on the show HERE. First, and above all else, be sure to not just acknowledge Jesus with your words this season, but truly spend time with Him every day. Invite the Prince of Peace into your life and let Him work His wonders.

Merry Christmas!
