Food For The Hungry celebrates the 2020 Elementary School Collection

WNZR’s Marcy Rinehart talked with several volunteers with Food For The Hungry about this year’s Elementary School Collection. All schools in Knox County participated in collecting food and funds to support our campaign.

The Truck to Trunk Food Distribution continues in Croton!

WNZR’s Marcy Rinehart talked with two representatives of the weekly “Truck to Trunk” food distribution Program.

Theresa Gregory is from the distribution “hub” – the Irongate Equestrian and Events Center. Jeff Davidson is the Project Manager from Global Vision Alliance. Listen in for details on how this food giveaway came to our community and how to participate.

This amazing food box distribution is happening TODAY in Croton.
Six (6) semi trucks will be coming to the Irongate Equestrian Center (12298 Croton Road, Croton) TODAY (10/27)! There will be over 6,500 food boxes to hand out!!

The time is 9am – 5pm (while supplies last).

Please help us spread the word to families in your church or neighborhood. If your church has a food pantry, please plan to pick up food that will help you serve others.

2 boxes of food per family. Ministries/Pantries/Churches can take as many boxes as you need or can transport home.

The boxes do contain perishable items, so plan to get them into a refrigerator once you return home. Each box weighs 30 pounds.

Capt. Christine Moretz shares the impact that Food For The Hungry has on the Salvation Army

For over 3 decades, the Food For The Hungry drive has been collecting donations for the Salvation Army. WNZR’s Marcy Rinehart had a chance to talk with Capt. Christine Moretz from the Mount Vernon Salavation Army about the impact those donations have on their organization and the services that they provide to our community.

Elementary Schools in Knox County collect donations for Food For The Hungry

The annual Elementary School Collection to benefit Food For The Hungry kicks off today, 11/18/19.

WNZR’s Marcy Rinehart talked with representatives from local sororities that are coordinating this effort.
Sandra Fithian and Vikki Eley from Psi Iota Xi talk about the Central Knox County Elementary School Drive. Linda Owens from Delta Kappa Gamma talk about the Greater Knox County Elementary School Drive.

MVNU encourages the campus community to get involved with Food For The Hungry

WNZR’s Marcy Rinehart talked with Catie Hayes from Mount Vernon Nazarene University. Catie is the Director of Community and International Ministries. She helps to lead the Knox Needs initiative on campus to raise funds and awareness of the Food For The Hungry Program.
