The Lion King Jr. is THIS WEEKEND at the Memorial Theatre in Mount Vernon. The production brings to life your favorite childhood movie right before your eyes! Join the cast this weekend Friday or Saturday September 22 and 23 at 7:30 p.m. or this Sunday, September 24 2:00 p.m. Regular Admission is $12 – $15 and children 10 and under receive a discount of $3.

Sonfest 2017 – Bonray

We continue our countdown to Sonfest 2017 by featuring Bonray, a group made up of four siblings from Pennsylvania. After forming the group in 2014 Zac, Jesse, Jake and Morgan Bonner have toured the United States performing covers, mashups, and original songs while sharing their message of eternal hope in Christ.

Marcy Rinehart talked Zac the oldest of the four siblings and the lead singer for Bonray. They talked about how the group got started and what its like working with family! Zac also talks about why Christian music is important to him and how we can help pray for the band and their family.

The annual event will be held this Saturday, 9/23 from Noon – 10pm.

“How I Became A Pirate” will hit the Memorial Theater stage this weekend: Friday 9/15 at 7:30pm and Saturday 9/16 at 2pm and 7:30pm.
“Lion King Junior” will take the stage next weekend: Friday 9/22 at 7:30pm, Saturday 9/23 at 7:30pm and Sunday 9/24 at 2pm.

We also wanted to share an update from Samaritans Purse as they assist those in Florida and Texas with recent hurricanes.

Harvey Update
• Samaritan’s Purse continues to minister to overwhelmed Texas communities in
Houston, Pearland, Portland, Santa Fe, and Victoria.
• Through our response to Harvey’s devastation, more than 150 people have professed
faith in Jesus Christ.
• To date, more than 2,100 families have requested our assistance.
• We remain committed to helping the many people still reeling from Hurricane Harvey,
even as we plan to respond to Hurricane Irma.
Irma Update
• A Samaritan’s Purse Canada disaster relief unit arrived at a staging point over the
weekend, and has been deployed.
• Samaritan’s Purse sent emergency aid and a Disaster Assistance Response Team to St.
Maarten on Friday. The DC-8 flight transported shelter materials, blankets, and hygiene
kits for more than 2,000 families.
• Samaritan’s Purse was the first aid organization to arrive on the island, much to the
encouragement of the population.
• A second DC-8 is scheduled for a second flight arrived in St. Maarten on Sunday,
September 10, to bring additional aid.
