The Morning Thing Recognizes National Suicide Prevention Week

This is National Suicide Prevention Week, and so the Morning Thing looked at how we as Christians should approach the topic of Mental Illness, in order to help anyone struggling with depression or another condition who might be contemplating suicide. First, we looked at some common misconceptions about depression that Christians often believe. You can see the whole list HERE. Next, we talked with Mary Elder about an upcoming Mental Health Conversation Series at Fredericktown United Methodist Church. This series will introduce churches to the topic of mental health and help them minister to anyone in their community who struggles with a mental illness. You can listen to the entire conversation HERE.

If you or someone you know is struggling with a mental illness or is contemplating suicide, please reach out to the resources our community offers. Some great places to start are NAMI and the Knox County Suicide Prevention Coalition.
