It is “Couple Appreciation Month”. How will you celebrate?

April is Couple Appreciation Month. The Morning Thing shared some ways that married couples can show love and appreciation to each other.

1. Say it out loud.

I try to speak or text thoughts of affirmation to my husband at least once or twice a week.

2. Acts of service.

3. Wake him up.

My husband enjoys a good cup of coffee in the morning. It could be breakfast or warm towels: it’s about helping him start his day off feeling loved and ready by his helpmate to face the world.

4. Prayer

We don’t like to leave each morning without praying together. If we forget or it’s too hectic to pray, we will oftentimes call each other on the way and pray.

5. Meet his needs.

Commit to yourself that the private time you share together is fully focused on him and nothing else. Check out our 14 Day Kiss Your Husband Challenge to help you get started.

6. Flirt

When he is getting ready to walk out the door for work, take a good look at him and before you give him that goodbye kiss, pay him one compliment to let him know that in your eyes, he is still the only one you want to be with.

7. Look him in the eyes.

Take the time to stop what I am doing when he walks through the door, look him in the eyes, tell him hello, and ask him about his day.

8. Listen.

Give Her A Hug

Wrap your arms around her and hold her. Don’t be quick to let go. Hug her for a full minute. Watch how it affects your kids. Don’t be surprised if they run up and join the hug.

Leave a Note

It doesn’t have to be a long note. A simple 3X5 card saying, “I love you because…” It could even be a text.

Make Her Favorite Morning Drink

Tell Her One Thing About Her That You Appreciate

Everyone wants to be noticed and feel like their contributions are appreciated. Think about all of the ways your wife blesses you and your kids and then tell her.

Run A Bath For Her

Take Out The Trash

Make Her Laugh

There’s something special about laughing together. You know what makes your wife laugh. Even if you aren’t particularly funny, work at it.

Rub Her Neck And Shoulders

Greet Her Well

One of my favorite things to watch is how people greet one another at the airport. The way their faces light up as they embrace each other shows how much they care about each other. How would your wife respond if you greeted her every day in the same way you would had she been gone for two weeks or a month?

Make The Bed

Order Her a Special Gift

Say a Prayer for Her Day

Even if you are not someone accustomed to praying, try it. I can guarantee this, it won’t hurt. Pray for her strength, protection, wisdom, and that she would never forget she is loved.
