Psi Iota Xi is hosting a Downton Abbey Tea on Sunday, October 9 at 2pm at Veterans Hall at the Knox Memorial. Sandra Fithian talked with WNZR about this exciting fundraising event.

You can enjoy a traditional English tea, complete with finger sandwiches, scones and desserts, along with four Teas, served by footmen! There will also be a Silent Auction to raise funds for the community outreach projects of Psi Iota Xi.

Monday, 11/22/21 was an exciting day for members of the Psi Iota Xi Sorority. The collections at elementary schools across Knox County were picked up and brought to a warehouse at Blubaugh Body & Frame.
WNZR’s Marcy Rinehart talked with members of Psi Iota Xi about this incredible project to support the Knox County Food For The Hungry Drive. Sandra Fithian, Carolyn Douglass, Elaine Ambrosiani, and Debbie Ruggles shared their passion for community service. They also shared their excitement about getting our youth involved in serving others.
Marcy also had the chance to chat with the “Food Pickup Guys” – Jerry Scott, Dave Ewart, Kevin Mishey and John Feltman. These gentlemen volunteer each year to pick up the food from all the elementary schools. They talk about how important it is to be a volunteer and the value of having kids involved in community service.
The totals for the 2021 Psi Iota Xi Elementary School Collection will be announced during the annual Food For The Hungry Broadcast on Saturday, December 10th. The top student collectors will also be recognized on this broadcast.

The sorority coordinates the Elementary School collection for all Knox County Schools. The collection is happening this week – 11/16 – 11/20!
Sandra shares details of the collection, the Top 10 Food Items needed at the local food pantries and how the classes across the county are competing. The top contributing class in each school (12 total) will win a pizza party that includes pizza, drinks and delivery TO their classroom! The top student collectors in each school will be part of the Food For The Hungry broadcast on 12/11.
During the week of 11/18, all Knox County Elementary schools participated in a collection of donations to benefit Food For The Hungry.
