Food For The Hungry helps Interchurch Social Services throughout Knox County

For over 3 decades, the Food For The Hungry drive has been collecting donations to help Interchurch Social Services. WNZR’s Marcy Rinehart had a chance to talk with some representatives of Interchurch around Knox County. She talked with Joy Harris, Executive Director, Katie Frazier, Fredericktown Interchurch Branch Manager and Sheryl O’Neil, Centerburg Interchurch Branch Manager. They shared details about the need around the county and how Food For The Hungry donations impact their organization and the services that they can provide.

Christmas in July comes to Knox County on Saturday 7/13

Interchurch Social Services has a big impact in our community.
On Saturday, 7/13, the 36th annual Christmas in July event will be held to benefit the ministry of Interchurch.

WNZR supports Knox County Interchurch Social Services at Christmas in July on Saturday 7/13!
Join the Big Blue crew to support this annual food drive to benefit Interchurch Social Services of Knox County.

This is the 36th annual Christmas in July and the goal is $20,000 in combined cash and food. On Saturday, 7/13, 17 collection points will be open and accepting non-perishable food and monetary donations to support all four Interchurch locations – Centerburg, Danville, Fredericktown and Mount Vernon.

Danville/East Knox Service Area:

The Elementary Schools around Knox County show their support of Food For The Hungry

WNZR’s Marcy Rinehart had a chance to see NINE food pallets stacked with food from local elementary school collections. She visited a warehouse at Blubaugh Body & Frame to see the result of generous gifts from kids in our community.
Listen in as she talks with Cindi Doolittle and Sandra Fithian of Psi Iota Xi and Linda Owens of Delta Kappa Gamma about this county-wide collection.

Marcy also talked with representatives from The Salvation Army and Interchurch Social Services about how these gifts will impact their ministries.
