Today we visited the topic of stress and we looked at several different topics around stress. The first topic we looked at are life events that Americans voted are most stressful, ranked from 1-10. Find that list HERE.

We also took a stress test that shows us what is causing the most stress in our individual lives. The test can be found HERE if you would like to see what is causing you the most stress.

Today is World Teacher’s Day. Please encourage our educators.

Today is a special day – a day to encourage the educators in our world.

The responsibility for educating future generations is not a light one by any means, so show your support for these dedicated and important people not just on Teachers’ Day, but throughout the whole year.

This year’s universal World Teachers’ Day theme is “Teachers: Leading in crisis, reimagining the future.”

WNZR shares an MVNU Update with Dr. Henry Spaulding

WNZR’s Marcy Rinehart talked with Dr. Henry Spaulding for the October MVNU Presidential Update. Dr. Spaulding shared the latest COVID update from campus, including the current case numbers and how MVNU will begin new campus-wide COVID testing soon.

He also shared the calendar changes coming to the fall and spring semester, fall enrollment stats and encouragement for students, faculty, and staff as MVNU face the second half of the fall semester.

A little history about this special day from www.worldsmileday.com:
Harvey Ball was a commercial artist from Worcester, Massachusetts. He created the smiley face in 1963. That image went on to become the most recognizable symbol of good will and good cheer on the planet.

As the years passed Harvey Ball became concerned about the over-commercialization of his symbol, and how its original meaning and intent had become lost in the constant repetition of the marketplace.  Out of that concern came his idea for World Smile Day®. He thought that we, all of us, should devote one day each year to smiles and kind acts throughout the world.  The smiley face knows no politics, no geography and no religion.  Harvey’s idea was that for at least one day each year, neither should we.  He declared that the first Friday in October each year would henceforth be World Smile Day®. Ever since that first World Smile Day® held in 1999, it has continued every year in Smiley’s hometown of Worcester, MA and around the world.

After Harvey died in 2001, the Harvey Ball World Smile Foundation was created to honor his name and memory.  The Foundation continues as the official sponsor of World Smile Day® each year.
