This week on The Morning Thing, we are going to share more about our Lifeline Theme – ECHO.
Yes, we had to postpone Lifeline because of COVID-19. In light of this worldwide crisis, our staff is very passionate about becoming an Echo of Christ’s love – to you and your family, to everyone that listens to WNZR and to our community.

We recently spoke with Stephanie Lobdell, MVNU’s Campus Pastor, about the theme of Echo and how she sees Christ’s love being echoed in her life and others. Watch her tell her story below.

The Mount Vernon Police Chaplains help local families in the COVID-19 Crisis

WNZR’s Marcy Rinehart had the chance to talk with Pastor Lucian Baker from Christ the King Community Church about the Mount Vernon Police Chaplains community outreach. The Chaplains are working to provide meals to families impacted by the COVID-19 Crisis. You can help! Listen in and find out how working together can meet a real need in our community. The Knox Chaplaincy Core has been called on to help the community with food needs. They are providing meals to children and the elderly around Knox County. The Chaplains would appreciate financial or food donations to help them have the resources for the next 3 weeks. They are in need of canned goods, cereal, pancake mixes, oatmeal, etc. and also monetary donations so that they can continue to shop for food. Donations can be dropped off between 9am and 4pm at the Chaplain House, 209 N Mulberry Street Mount Vernon. Call 419-455-5616 with any questions. If you or your church can help financially, a donation can be made on line at http://www.IAOCC.net or a check made out to KC3.

Dr. Henry Spaulding – MVNU COVID-19 Report

MVNU’s President, Dr. Henry Spaulding talked with WNZR on Tuesday, 3/17/2020 about decisions that have been made for campus in relation to the COVID-19 outbreak. Dr. Spaulding shared the plans for students to return home, how all classes are being moved to a virtual model and he shared a special message of encouragement to the MVNU Community.

The Morning Thing gives a preview of the WNZR Valentine’s Banquet
