WNZR’s Marcy Rinehart talked with Food For The Hungry Board President, Samantha Scoles.

Samantha talks about her history with the drive and what keeps her passionate about FFTH. She shares the excitement of the legacy of 39 years of giving in the community. Samantha also addresses the question of any cancellations because of COVID-19. She shares why the Food For The Hungry drive is so important in 2020 and talks about how the board is preparing to host the drive during COVID-19.

Samantha shared this year’s goal – $240,000. She is hopeful that the community sees the need as we see the need. She also shared the hope that the community sees the benefit of this drive.

Lisa Mazzari, Food For The Hungry Executive Director celebrates the 2020 Kick Off

WNZR’s Marcy Rinehart talked with Food For The Hungry Executive Director, Lisa Mazzari about this year’s campaign.

Lisa shared so many wonderful stories about how this drive impacts families here in Knox County. Listen in as she shares the good news of how the money collected in December 2019 was still impacting our community throughout the pandemic of COVID-19. She shares the story of a partnership that fed local students while schools were closed. An inspiring young girl hosted a lemonade stand and collected donations for FFTH. Lisa reminds us that Food For The Hungry is possible through the generous support of hundreds of volunteers all “Working Together to Care For Our Neighbors”!

The Truck to Trunk Food Distribution continues in Croton!

WNZR’s Marcy Rinehart talked with two representatives of the weekly “Truck to Trunk” food distribution Program.

Theresa Gregory is from the distribution “hub” – the Irongate Equestrian and Events Center. Jeff Davidson is the Project Manager from Global Vision Alliance. Listen in for details on how this food giveaway came to our community and how to participate.

This amazing food box distribution is happening TODAY in Croton.
Six (6) semi trucks will be coming to the Irongate Equestrian Center (12298 Croton Road, Croton) TODAY (10/27)! There will be over 6,500 food boxes to hand out!!

The time is 9am – 5pm (while supplies last).

Please help us spread the word to families in your church or neighborhood. If your church has a food pantry, please plan to pick up food that will help you serve others.

2 boxes of food per family. Ministries/Pantries/Churches can take as many boxes as you need or can transport home.

The boxes do contain perishable items, so plan to get them into a refrigerator once you return home. Each box weighs 30 pounds.

Relationship Tips from Triple P – Positive Parenting Program

On Monday, The Morning Thing shared some insight from the Triple P – Positive Parenting Program. We shared tips on supporting healthy relationships and managing disagreements during COVID-19. This is a timely topic as Marcy and Wesley return from quarantine.

Today we visited the topic of stress and we looked at several different topics around stress. The first topic we looked at are life events that Americans voted are most stressful, ranked from 1-10. Find that list HERE.

We also took a stress test that shows us what is causing the most stress in our individual lives. The test can be found HERE if you would like to see what is causing you the most stress.

WNZR’s Marcy Rinehart talked with Dr. Henry Spaulding for the October MVNU Presidential Update. Dr. Spaulding shared the latest COVID update from campus, including the current case numbers and how MVNU will begin new campus-wide COVID testing soon.

He also shared the calendar changes coming to the fall and spring semester, fall enrollment stats and encouragement for students, faculty, and staff as MVNU face the second half of the fall semester.
