Would you like to be more like Jesus?

On Friday, The Morning Thing shared some ways that we can become more like Christ.
By studying the life of Jesus, we can find 10 important characteristics about His character.
When we make these characteristics part of our lives we become more like Christ.

1. Unconditional Love

Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. John 15:13

2. Prayerful Life

But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed. -Luke 5:16   

3. Forgiveness

Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” – Luke 23:24

4. Humility

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. – Mark 10:45

5. Jesus studied The Word of God

When they did not find him, they went back to Jerusalem to look for him. 46 After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. -Luke 2:45-46

6. Compassion

But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. -Matthew 9:36

7. Seek First the Kingdom of God

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. –  Matthew 6:33

8. Self-Control

He was led like a sheep to the slaughter, and as a lamb before its shearer is silent, so he did not open his mouth. –  Acts 8:32

9. Authority

Just then a man in their synagogue who was possessed by an impure spirit cried out, “What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are–the Holy One of God!” And Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be quiet, and come out of him!” –  Mark 1:23

10. Obedience

And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. –  Philippians 2:8
