Reminders From Scripture You Should Give Yourself Every Day

It is important to keep our eyes and hearts focused on God’s Word. Besides being the Sword of the Spirit, it is also the ultimate source of truth and encouragement. We are bombarded daily with an onslaught of messages from the world; some harmless, some misleading, and some outright false and dangerous. In order to be steady in our Christian walk, we should reflect daily on the truth God has given us. Today on the Morning Thing we shared several truths of scripture that are good to remind ourselves of daily. Some of them are important to remember because they keep us encouraged and others are important because they guide our actions to be more Christ-like.

  1. You are a child of God: “The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God.” (Romans 8:16)
  2. You are fearfully and wonderfully made: “I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; wonderful are your works, and my soul knows it very well.” (Psalm 139:14)
  3. Beauty is vain: “Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.” (Proverbs 31:30)
  4. You are filled with God’s Spirit: “And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit.” (Ephesians 5:18)
  5. You are a doer of the word: “But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves.” (James 1:22)
  6. Pray for your enemies: “But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” (Matthew 5:44)
  7. You don’t have to be anxious: “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” (Philippians 4:6)
  8. Put on the full armor: “Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.” (Ephesians 6:13)
