The TAC Color for a Cause Race is Tomorrow 9/2!

WNZR joins KSAAT (the Knox Substance Abuse Action Team) and New Directions of Knox County to support the 2023 Teen Advisory Council’s Color for a Cause Race.

Have the time of your life with your family, friends, and/or co-workers. The Color for a Cause Race is hosted by the Teen Advisory Council and takes place at Ariel Foundation Park in Mount Vernon.

This event is all about fun, family, friends, and healthy lifestyles! Join the TAC for a little exercise and lots of colorful FUN! Your day will consist of a 3.1 mile run/walk or a 1-mile run/walk through Ariel Foundation Park as colorful, washable powder flies. Cross the finish line colored like a rainbow to get your medal!

Check-in is at the Park National Bank Pavilion. All pre-registrations will receive a white t-shirt, race number, finisher medal, and most importantly, Color Run Swag!

Join the fun at Ariel Foundation Park! Registration and packet pick-up begins at 4 p.m., and the race begins at 5:30 p.m. A Kids Fun Run will take place at 5 p.m.

WNZR will broadcast from 4:45 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.

TAC, the Teen Advisory Council is hosting the event. All proceeds will benefit TAC, Knox County’s youth-led prevention group. The Teen Advisory Council focuses on preventing unhealthy behaviors among Knox County youth before they begin. TAC students from all Knox County schools plan and execute prevention projects. They actively work to end teen dating violence and sexual violence, as well as the prevention of alcohol, tobacco, and substance use among peers. TAC members are ambassadors of healthy, safe, equal, and non-violent relationships among their peers and in the community.

Registration pricing options are:
Individual (Ages 13+) – $30
Individual (Ages 5 – 12): $10
Kids 4 and under are FREE
The Kids Fun Run is FREE Team of 4 – $100 through Race Day Team of 10+ – $15 per runner through Race Day
(Children under 12 must be accompanied by a participating adult)

The TAC Color for a Cause 5K 1-Mile Run/Walk is VIRTUAL this year

Join the Teen Advisory Council of Knox County (TAC)  for the 2020 Virtual Color for a Cause 5k/1m Run or Walk to have the time of your life with your family, friends and/or co-workers.

The Virtual Color for a Cause 5k, hosted by TAC, will take place from the morning of Saturday, August 29th, to the end of the day on Monday, September 6th to complete your event.  Do it any way you want – on a treadmill, walking the dog, your usual jogging route, whatever works. This event is all about fun, family, friends, and healthy lifestyles! Join the TAC for a little exercise and lots of colorful FUN!

First 500 pre-registrations will receive a white t-shirt, a finisher medal, color packet, and Color Run Swag! You will have the option to have your packet mail to you or contactless pick up.  If you choose to have your packet mailed, our goal is to have it to you before Saturday, August 29th  so that you can do a great post-race selfie wearing them.  We will be hosting a Facebook live virtual color toss on Saturday, September 5th at 6:00pm.  We encourage you to post a video or picture to the Color for a Cause Facebook Event Page for a chance to win a door prize!

$20 Race Registration & In Person Pick Up $30 Race Registration & Packet Mailing During registration you’ll have the option to pickup your packet at New Directions Monday, August 24 – Friday, August 28 or we can mail the packet right to your door.

KSAAT, the Knox Substance Abuse Action Team hosted the annual membership meeting on 4/24. Tina Cockrell, Drug Free Communities Coordinator shared news of KSAAT’s upcoming events and the debut of a new video produced by the Teen Advisory Council. Tina also shared news about a new campaign called #BuildTheBond
