This morning we talked with Plumb, headlining artist of Sonfest 2017. Plumb talked about her start into Christian music and how God has continuously opened doors for her career. She also talked about some of her favorite people to work with when writing and making music. Sonfest 2017 is TOMORROW! Join us Saturday, September 23rd. The gates open at noon and the first artist will take the stage at 1pm. This is an all-day event which will include outdoor activities, festival food, and giveaways. SonFest is held rain or shine. MVNU’s Presidential Update with Dr. Henry Spaulding

Dr. Henry Spaulding was a guest today (9/1) on The Morning Thing.
He shared his monthly presidential update.

WNZR’s Eddie Dilts and Dr. Spaulding talked about the start of fall semester, wrapping up summer construction projects and the goals for 2017-2018.
Dr. Spaulding also offers his advice to students going through the struggle of the
back-to-school transition.

Babbie Mason is coming to the MVNU Women’s Auxiliary Spring Conference!

The MVNU Women’s Auxiliary Conference is this weekend, March 17-18. Babbie Mason is the featured speaker. The event will take place in the MVNU Chapel Auditorium. Go to www.mvnu.edu/womensaux for details on tickets.

Friday’s session starts at 7pm. Saturday’s session starts at 9am.

Babbie Mason is an award-winning singer, songwriter, teacher and TV talk show host. Her ministry and career have blessed countless thousands for almost three decades, taking her across the globe where she has encouraged the hearts of young and old alike in churches, conferences and corporate conventions. She teaches women that they matter to God and that they can overcome any obstacle they may face. Women all over America and abroad have encountered Jesus in an atmosphere of acceptance, forgiveness and love.

Babbie Mason’s heart-felt lyrics and singable melodies have been translated in over twenty languages. She is the recipient of two Dove Awards, and many other award nominations. In 2010 Babbie was recognized for her contributions in Gospel music by being inducted into The Christian Music Hall of Fame. Although Babbie Mason is known all over the world for her contributions of encouraging words and beautiful music, she remains humble, recognizing her blessings come from above. When you meet her, you’ll meet a friend with a love for God and people.

John Stone is a seasoned worship leader that believes worship is a lifestyle. John’s mission and purpose can be summed up in this short statement: “delighting God should be our number one priority in all of life. When hearts are right in living out our faith, the manifest presence of God seems to always show up. God delights in the praises of His people!”

He serves full-time as Executive Pastor while still providing weekly worship experiences at Countryside Church of the Nazarene in Lebanon, Ohio. Conferences and various events have become a regular thing for him through the years and he has just released a new recording of original songs that he has been presenting throughout 2015, titled “Everything.”

Food For The Hungry celebrates 35 years of giving in Knox County!

2016 marks the 35th Anniversary of Food for the Hungry. This is the annual drive to collect food and funds to benefit Interchurch Social Services and The Salvation Army of Knox County. The calendar is full of events and special collections planned to support the annual drive.

WNZR is bringing you information about all events and collections connected to Food for the Hungry. The Morning Thing has been featuring conversations with committee members about these exciting events.

Marcy Rinehart of The Morning Thing talks with the ladies about the power of this collection and the impact these donations make on the Knox County community.

There are SO many organizations and individuals working to collect food and funds to support this outreach.

Psi Iota Xi and Delta Kappa Gamma sororities are working with the elementary students in our county. The incredible ladies from these two organizations have been working hard to encourage that ALL children in Knox County participate in Food for the Hungry.
Elementary schools across the county held collections the week of 11/14 – 11/18. So far, we are seeing GREAT results from those collections! Over 14 pallets of food were picked up from Mount Vernon elementary schools on Monday 11/21! That is amazing!

#2 – Shop in an auction!
The Knox County Career Center is hosting TWO auctions to benefit Food for the Hungry. The online auction features gift certificates from labs at the Career Center. Go to www.knoxcountycareercenter.yolasite.com to place your bid. There is a safe and easy form to fill out at the bottom of the website.
Bidding ends at 5pm on Friday, 12/9. The winning bidders will be announced at the Food For The Hungry broadcast at 12:30pm on Saturday, 12/10.

The Knox County Career Center is also hosting a LIVE Auction of amazing gift baskets! This will take place at around 12:45pm during the Food For The Hungry broadcast.
There are 6 baskets ranging in value from $356 to $1277!

#3 – Get dressed up, go to dinner and support FFTH!
Kenyon College is hosting the 6th annual Snowflake Gala Dinner Auction to benefit Food for the Hungry on Friday, December 2nd in Gund Commons. Enjoy dinner prepared by the talented chefs of AVI Food Systems. This year’s dinner will feature a buffet of locally sourced foods, with both non-vegetarian (beef and pork) and vegetarian options. Reservations accepted NO LATER than THIS FRIDAY, November 25, 2016.
