10/12/18 marks the 50th Anniversary of the first day of classes at Mount Vernon Nazarene University.
Marcy Rinehart of The Morning Thing had the privilege to talk with Pioneer Staff Member, Roberta Simmons and Pioneer Faculty Member, Bill Bridges.
They reminisced about the first move-in day, the changes on campus and how our Mount Vernon/Knox County community has offered support over 5 decades.

MVNU plans a special chapel for Friday, 10/12/18

Friday, October 12th marks a significant moment as Mount Vernon Nazarene University celebrates a special 50th Anniversary. To commemorate the very first day of classes, a special chapel service will be held at 10:20 a.m. on Friday, October 12th. Reflections on October of 1968 will be shared and celebrated.

The mission of the MVNU Community Music School is to provide high-quality, affordable music enrichment programs to Knox County and surrounding areas. Our program utilizes a talented pool of MVNU faculty, students, special guest artists, and experienced local music professionals.
PROGRAMS OFFERED INCLUDE:
  • Group and private lesson instruction for voice, woodwinds, brass, percussion, strings, piano, and guitar
  • Ensemble programs for band, choir, and strings
  • Guitar and piano classes for youth and adults
  • Regular Saturday workshops
  • Summer camps and other summer enrichment programs

  5. WNZR Leadership Team Training took place all this week at the station. We are excited to welcome in our student leaders for the 2018-2019 school year.
