Every Monday, The Morning Thing’s “Meet the Team” feature shines a spotlight on a local team and some great things happening in our Knox County community.

Meet the Team – Sonfest 2017 at MVNU!

WNZR’s Meet the Team feature this week shines the spotlight on Sonfest 2017 at Mount Vernon Nazarene University.
The annual event will be held this Saturday, 9/23 from Noon – 10pm.

Bharon and Marcy Rinehart talked about the 20th anniversary of this event and shared some history of the early days. They also talked about the goals for this year. The Sonfest team is praying for 3,000 people to gather in the MVNU Grove for an intentional day with God. Will you be 1 of 3,000?

Meet The Team: The Mount Vernon High School Marching Band and the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Initiative

This week for Meet The Team Monday we had a bit of a double feature.  Our first team just got done performing at first the Dan Emmett Music and Arts Festival, and are now getting ready to perform during football season.  That’s right its the Mount Vernon High School Marching Band.  Our own Lilly Buckley got a chance to talk with the band director Andrew Sundman.  If you would like to check out their full conversation click HERE.
