Bible Verses to Give You Strength!

bible

Today on the Morning Thing, we shared some Bible verses to give you strengths through all of life’s trials and tribulations.

“I will sing to the Lord,
for he is highly exalted.
Both horse and driver
he has hurled into the sea.

The Lord is my strength and my defense;
he has become my salvation.
He is my God, and I will praise him,
my father’s God, and I will exalt him.
The Lord is a warrior;
the Lord is his name.
Pharaoh’s chariots and his army
he has hurled into the sea.
The best of Pharaoh’s officers
are drowned in the Red Sea.”

-Exodus 15: 1-4

How To Have a Worry-Free Week

Feeling worried or anxious? Well today on the Morning Thing, we talked all about how to combat those feelings.

We shared an article from Joyce Meyer that you can find here, where she talks about where worry comes from and how we can combat it.

We also shared a list of 20 comforting Bible verses to look at whenever you are experiencing worry. You can find the complete list by clicking here.

Plus, we gave away a lot of prizes on the show today! Congratulations to Julie from Fredericktown who was our Bible trivia winner. Our question was “What was the name of Moses’ brother?”, and Julie correctly answered that it was Aaron. She picks up a $5 gift certificate to the Southside Diner.

Mervin from Mount Vernon was our next winner! He picked up a pair of tickets to see Uncommon Brilliance, the Heritage Center documentary that will be screened later this week.

And we gave away a pair of tickets to see Lauren Daigle and Matthew West at the Ohio State Fair this Saturday, and Sandy from Mount Vernon was our winner of those.

Make sure to head over to our Scrapbook at WNZR.fm to see if you or anyone you know is in our pictures from the 2016 Knox County Fair!

Have a great and worry-free Monday!

Christmas In July!

Today on the Morning Thing we celebrated Christmas!

We told you all about Christmas In July, Interchurch Social Services’ annual collection of food and funds to benefit Knox County. You can find out everything you need to know about tomorrow’s collection, including needed items and collection points over here.

Our Morning Thing Fave 5 this week was our favorite Bible verses about giving.

  1. Proverbs 3:27 – “Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due,
    when it is in your power to act.”
  2. Luke 6:30 – “Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back.”
  3. Matthew 25:35-40 – “35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ 40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’”
  4. Hebrews 13:16 – “And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.”
  5. Proverbs 22:9 – “The generous will themselves be blessed,
        for they share their food with the poor.”

Have a great weekend!
