The Morning Thing Friday Favorites 1/3/25

January is National Soup Month. Today for our Friday Favorites, The Morning Thing hosts shared about their favorite soups.

Here is Eric’s Chili Recipe:
Ingredients

1 lbs burger/1lbs mild Italian sausage

2 cups of salsa

Bushs chili and beans

2 can pinto beans

2 can kidney beans

2 can black beans

1/2 tsp paprika

1 onion

1 cup water

1/4 cup chili powder

To garnish

Cheddar cheese

Sour cream 

Steps

  1. Brown beef and/or sausage
  2. Dice onion
  3. Add all ingredients except salsa to crockpot or large pot
  4. Cook on medium or medium high heat for a couple of hours
    1. Depends on how soft you want the beans
  5. 1 hour to half an hour before eating, add the salsa.
  6. Eat when you think its ready and enjoy!

Note: You can really eat whenever after the meat has been cooked because the other ingredients are not based on temperature to consume. 

You can also add any peppers or other ingredients you wish. 

Its YOUR chili, so have fun with it!

Interchurch Social Service Annual Wreath Auction Returns To Benefit Food For The Hungry

Sheryl O’Neill with the Centerburg Branch of Interchurch Social Services and Cindy Martin, the Danville Branch Manager for Interchurch Social Services talk about the return of the silent wreath auction in their towns!

They say the wreaths can be seen at the Centerburg and Danville Branches of Park National Bank during regular business hours and on Facebook. Bids can be placed at the branch. The auction ends Friday and arrangements for payment and pickup will be addressed at that time.


Donations raised will be used to purchase food through the Mid Ohio Food Collective.
