What will you be doing on Thanksgiving morning? We Run MV encourages you to join them at Mount Vernon Nazarene University for the 11th Annual Turkey Trot.
This special race benefits the 40th annual Food For The Hungry Drive! WNZR’s Marcy Rinehart talked with Scott Burgess about this wonderful opportunity to get some exercise and help others in our community.
Monday, 11/22/21 was an exciting day for members of the Psi Iota Xi Sorority. The collections at elementary schools across Knox County were picked up and brought to a warehouse at Blubaugh Body & Frame.
WNZR’s Marcy Rinehart talked with members of Psi Iota Xi about this incredible project to support the Knox County Food For The Hungry Drive. Sandra Fithian, Carolyn Douglass, Elaine Ambrosiani, and Debbie Ruggles shared their passion for community service. They also shared their excitement about getting our youth involved in serving others.
Marcy also had the chance to chat with the “Food Pickup Guys” – Jerry Scott, Dave Ewart, Kevin Mishey and John Feltman. These gentlemen volunteer each year to pick up the food from all the elementary schools. They talk about how important it is to be a volunteer and the value of having kids involved in community service.
The totals for the 2021 Psi Iota Xi Elementary School Collection will be announced during the annual Food For The Hungry Broadcast on Saturday, December 10th. The top student collectors will also be recognized on this broadcast.
