The Earth Day celebration is going on NOW at the Brown Environmental Center!

Get WILD at the Brown Family Environmental Center from 12 – 4 p.m. TODAY, 4/21!

The Columbus Zoo, Ohio Wildlife Center, Ohio Bird Sanctuary, St. Francis Center for Wildlife, and Midwest Biodiversity Institute will all be there with live animals to “meet.”

Build a bluebird box, bat house, or a home for native bumblebees.  Everything you build, you will take home with you.

Vendors will have good stuff to purchase:  Kenyon Farm (eggs), Broken Oak Farm (honey), Yellow Bird Food Shed (CSA shares), Our Farm (veggies & herbs), Potter’s Field Farm (native wildflowers).

New Directions Shelter of Knox County

16195631_1890658311177422_8147601804422870840_n-e1485520713424-657x330New Directions Domestic Abuse Shelter and Rape Crisis Center serves all survivors of domestic, intimate partner, and sexual violence in Knox County, Ohio. New Directions also strives to prevent the abuse of women, men, and children by joining with the community to build safe, respectful, and loving relationships. All New Directions services are provided free of charge.

New Directions is an amazing outreach here in Knox county, and WNZR’s Trevor Moore had the opportunity to talk with Lori Jones-Perkins, the Director at New Directions.

Lori talks about her involvement in the organization, their annual fundraiser, how people can financially support New Directions, and some of their goals/needs for 2018.

Food For The Hungry helps Centerburg!

Sheryl O’ Neil is the Branch Manager for the Centerburg office of Interchurch Social Services. Sheryl talked with WNZR’s Marcy Rinehart about the need in Centerburg.

On average, Sheryl is seeing 45 families per month! She shared how the funds from Food For The Hungry is helping meet the needs of these families.
She also shared her goals for 2018.

The Knox County Career Center is hosting a live auction of some incredible themed baskets. All items have been donated, so all proceeds benefit the 2017 Food For The Hungry Drive! There are 7 themed baskets, including a special one for Ohio State Fans!
