Festival of Trees Supports Food For The Hungry

The slogan for Food For The Hungry is “Working together to care for our neighbors.” There are so many community events is Knox County to support Food For The Hungry.

Audrey Spearman is hosting one of these events called The Festival of Trees. This is a great event to raise money and food for Food For The Hungry in a fun and unique way.

Food For The Hungry has a legacy of giving in Knox County. Joe and Marcy Rinehart share their passion for this project.

Joe and Marcy Rinehart have been involved with the Knox County Food For The Hungry drive since 1991. They stay involved because the project is making a difference.

The Centerburg and Danville Auctions for Food For The Hungry are OPEN

There are so many ways to give to Food For The Hungry. The Centerburg and Danville branches of Interchurch are hosting Silent Auctions. You can bid on beautiful Christmas wreaths, trees and Christmas decorations. All items are on display at the First Knox National Banks in Centerburg and Danville. The bidding closes at Noon on Saturday, 12/14/19.

WNZR’s Marcy Rinehart had a chance to chat with Sheryl O’Neil and Joy Harris about these exciting auctions.

WNZR’s Wesley Boston also talked with Michelle Mann from Centerburg Elementary School. Michelle shared how student council members got involved and created wreaths this year.

Food For The Hungry is possible with partnerships across Knox County

The 38th Annual Food For The Hungry Drive is this Saturday, December 14th. This campaign is only possible because of hundreds of volunteers, a very active partner board and the generosity of Knox County residents. WNZR’s Marcy Rinehart talked with Board President, Samantha Scoles about how the funds are distributed, options for giving and the impact of the grant program for food initiatives in our community.

Food For The Hungry helps Interchurch Social Services throughout Knox County

For over 3 decades, the Food For The Hungry drive has been collecting donations to help Interchurch Social Services. WNZR’s Marcy Rinehart had a chance to talk with some representatives of Interchurch around Knox County. She talked with Joy Harris, Executive Director, Katie Frazier, Fredericktown Interchurch Branch Manager and Sheryl O’Neil, Centerburg Interchurch Branch Manager. They shared details about the need around the county and how Food For The Hungry donations impact their organization and the services that they can provide.

The Knox County Career Center hosts an auction of themed baskets to support Food For The Hungry

The Knox County Career Center online auction of themed baskets returns to benefit Food For The Hungry!

The Knox County Career Center is making your Christmas shopping easy this year. They are hosting an online auction to benefit Food For The Hungry. This is an online silent auction featuring 7 themed gift baskets!

Happy Bean supports Food For The Hungry

WNZR’s Mark Wesley talked with Rochel Funiss, Director of Student Life at Mount Vernon Nazarene University. They talked about the “Happy Christmas Bean” event to support Food For The Hungry.

Foodstock is coming on Monday, 12/2

Chautauqua Foodstock brings tribute to Tom Petty, Stevie Nicks and the Rolling Stones – Knox County on Monday, December 2!

The Chautauqua Foodstock will be presented at the Knox County Memorial Theatre on Monday, December 2 at 7:00 pm. Doors open at 6pm. This living history tribute concert will feature the highly requested return of Tom Petty with guest stars Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham and headlining the concert is a tribute to The Rolling Stones.
