Fredericktown prepares for the annual Christmas Walk to benefit Food For The Hungry

WNZR’s Wesley Boston talked with Cecelia McClelland about the 18th annual Christmas Walk and Charity Auction on Saturday, December 1. The Walk will take place from 3 – 7 p.m.
Come experience the spirit of what Christmas is all about! The Walk Committee invites everyone to attend and mark the beginning of the Christmas season, while supporting Food For The Hungry to provide food and financial services to area residents.

Elementary Schools are collecting donations for Knox County’s Food For The Hungry

Elementary students all across Knox County are currently collecting donations for Knox County’s Food For The Hungry Drive. Collections are happening this week in Centerburg, Danville, East Knox, Fredericktown and Mount Vernon.
WNZR’s Lilly Buckley talked with the 3 ladies that are coordinating these collections around the community.
Linda Owens from the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority is coordinating the Greater Knox County Elementary Collection.
Sandra Fithian and Cindi Doolittle are coordinating the Central Knox County Elementary Collection.

COTC encourages local high school students to support Food For The Hungry

WNZR’s Marcy Rinehart talked with Tonia Osborne, Special Events Coordinator for Community Affairs for Central Ohio Technical College. Tonia is leading the coordination of the Knox County High School collection for Food For The Hungry. Tonia shared with us the new exciting way that high schools will be honored with this year’s collection. She also gives encouragement to all Knox County High School students to get involved with this project.

The Mount Vernon Salvation Army kicks off their 2018 Red Kettle Campaign

The Salvation Army kicked-off the 2018 Red Kettle Campaign on 11/20. WNZR’s Marcy Rinehart talked with Capt. Christine Moretz about this year’s goal, kettle locations, the need for bell ringers and her heart for ministry to our community.

116 days of tutoring through the Learning Zone
40 Teen leadership classes
10 Crock Pot Class graduates
22 children sent to overnight camp
60 Summer Day Campers

They talked about the 8th Annual Snowflake Gala to benefit Food for the Hungry, plus other collections that will happen on campus this holiday season.

Did you know that there are 2 auctions happening in Knox County to benefit Food For The Hungry?  Did you know that these auctions have beautiful Christmas wreaths and other Christmas décor up for bid?

Don’t miss your chance to bid at the First Knox National Banks in Centerburg and Danville. The auctions run from Friday, 11/23/18 through Noon on Saturday, December 12/8/18.
All proceeds from these auctions benefit Interchurch Social Services in both villages.
