This week, The Morning Thing is honoring Moms. Today, we shared some inspiration from imom.com – 25 Affirmations for Mom.
If we are honest, we tend to be self-critical, especially with how we handle Motherhood.
Author Mary Jo Wyse gives us a two-part challenge:
#1 – Start giving yourself affirmations every day. Pick one or two from the list below.
#2 – Use these affirmations to praise someone else. Recognize another Mom.

1. I’m doing the best I can.
2. I don’t need to be perfect.
3. I work hard to teach my kids to be good people.
4. I am the best mom for my kid(s).
5. God made me a mom for a reason.
6. I make mistakes just like everyone else.
7. Discipline is hard to follow through with, but I’m trying.
8. I’m lovable.
9. Trying counts and I try hard to be a good role model for my kids.
10. I’m not always patient with my kids, but I’m trying.
11. I’m glad I can admit my mistakes to my kids because it teaches them humility.
12. Not every moment of the day needs to be productive. I’m allowed down time and silence.
13. I work hard at creating happy memories for my kids.
14. I’m my kids’ best advocate.
15. I’m teaching my kids with the best tools I have.
16. I don’t need to spend money to create a happy home. My hugs and affection go a long way.
17. I am God’s beautiful creation.
18. Every day that I pour love and attention into my kids, they grow a bit stronger and more capable.
19. I’ve had to work at this job of motherhood, but I’ve done well so far.
20. I can’t prevent every mishap from occurring in my child’s life, but that’s OK.
21. When I slip up, it becomes a teaching moment for my kids. I have lots of opportunities to teach my kids! That makes them so lucky to have me as a mom.
22. I am not my mother, my sister, or anyone else. I do motherhood my own way.
23. I’m learning.
24. I’m getting better at this day after day, week after week. I will continue to improve year after year.
25. I’m a good mom.
Philippians 4:6-8 – Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

The ladies shared the exciting news of the Grand Opening for this new initiative of the Place 4 Grace Ministry.

Alyssa Sidle of The Morning Thing talked with Lindsey VanGundy, Extension Educator with the Knox County OSU Extension Office.
They talked about this year’s 4H Summer Camp.

MVNU’s President, Dr. Henry Spaulding, talked with The Morning Thing for his final Presidential Update.

Dr. Spaulding shared an update on his health and talked about how this graduation would be bittersweet. Dr. Spaulding will be retiring after MVNU’s Commencement on 5/6/23.
He talked about the accomplishments that he is proud of, shared memories from his time at MVNU and gave us an update on the Presidential Search.
Dr. Spaulding shared a special message to the Class of 2023 and all MVNU students. He also shared encouragement for MVNU Faculty and Staff.
He shared the plans that he and Sharon have for retirement, including a trip to Florida and a move to Sunbury.
The WNZR Staff want to thank Dr. Henry and Sharon Spaulding for their incredible service to our ministry and Mount Vernon Nazarene University. Please join us in praying for this transition for their family and MVNU.

We have 8 graduating seniors on our Big Blue Crew.
On Wednesday, we shared a conversation with Mackenzie Holder.
Mackenzie is from Johnstown, Ohio. She is graduating with a degree in Communication and Media (Digital Media).
Mackenzie shares what brought her to MVNU and how she found her way to WNZR.
She has held many jobs at WNZR including Office Assistant, Co-Host of The Morning Thing, Communication Department Assistant, Voice of the Cougars Social Media Team, plus Head Editor of the Lakeholm Viewer.
Mackenzie shares some memories and lessons that she has learned over these past 4 years.
She asks for prayer for her future. Mackenzie will be attending Miami University in the fall to get her Masters Degreee in Sports Management.

He shares some memories and lessons that he has learned being part of the WNZR Team.
Kasey also shares the exciting news about his new job with Pataskala Church of the Nazarene.
