  • In 2021, Americans spent $21.8 billion dollars on Valentine’s Day (only $11.7 billion went to gifts for spouses and partners).
  • Americans spent $751.3 million dollars on gifts for their pets on Valentine’s Day (extra expense, not in the $21.8 billion above).

WNZR presents the February 2022 MVNU Presidential Update

MVNU’s President, Dr. Henry Spaulding, talked with The Morning Thing for his monthly Presidential Update.

WNZR Talks with 3-Time Olympic Gold Medalist Leah Amico in honor of National Girls and Women in Sports Day

Today is National Girls and Women in Sports day, which has the purpose of encouraging young women to get involved in athletics and persevere in them, as well as reminding the rest of us to be supportive of the girls in our lives who want to try out a sport. In honor of this day, and with the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics just days away, The Morning Thing wanted to share a special conversation that WNZR’s own Dylan Elliot had with Leah Amico. Leah is a 3-time Olympic Gold Medalist with USA Softball, a 3-time National Champion at the University of Arizona, 3-time 1st Team All-American, and 3-Time 1st Team Academic All-American. In addition, she still holds the record for the highest batting average at the Women’s College World Series: .750, 9 for 12. She is an author, motivational speaker, and college softball analyst for ESPN and Westwood One Radio.

In this conversation, Leah shares how she became interested in sports and passionate about softball, what it was like to win three gold medals, and what her career has looked like since. You can hear the entire conversation HERE.
