On today’s Morning Thing we got a chance to speak with Nick Zarley, who is playing a fearsome pirate in MTVArts upcoming production of How I Became A Pirate. If you would like to listen in to our own Lilly Buckley discussion with him, click HERE. And if you would like more information on How I Became A Pirate, head to mtvarts.com.
We also wanted to share an update from Samaritans Purse as they assist those in Florida and Texas with recent hurricanes.
Harvey Update
• Samaritan’s Purse continues to minister to overwhelmed Texas communities in
Houston, Pearland, Portland, Santa Fe, and Victoria.
• Through our response to Harvey’s devastation, more than 150 people have professed
faith in Jesus Christ.
• To date, more than 2,100 families have requested our assistance.
• We remain committed to helping the many people still reeling from Hurricane Harvey,
even as we plan to respond to Hurricane Irma.
Irma Update
• A Samaritan’s Purse Canada disaster relief unit arrived at a staging point over the
weekend, and has been deployed.
• Samaritan’s Purse sent emergency aid and a Disaster Assistance Response Team to St.
Maarten on Friday. The DC-8 flight transported shelter materials, blankets, and hygiene
kits for more than 2,000 families.
• Samaritan’s Purse was the first aid organization to arrive on the island, much to the
encouragement of the population.
• A second DC-8 is scheduled for a second flight arrived in St. Maarten on Sunday,
September 10, to bring additional aid.
